Green Mission Statement
For more than a decade Universal
Warehousing/SLA Transport/Ace Service Center, Inc, has endeavored
to make a postive impact, on
the environment by implementing responsible practices for
the conservation of energy and natural resources and the
reduction of waste. We are committed to cost-saving measures
to prevent pollution and minimize our overall environmental
impact.
Commitment to increase efficiency
and reduce pollution & waste, these are the first steps
for our company! Recycle; re-use what we can, reduce consumption,
waste and pollution. Conserve Energy, water, natural resources
and compliance with all environmental regulations. We strive
to use environmentally friendly products and educate our
employees, customers and the community on environmental responsibility
and the importance of making responsible decisions.
For Universal Warehousing, SLA
Transport & Ace Service Center, Inc. going “green” is
much more than a day, a week, or even a month - the efforts
we make today should be a part of our daily routine, leaving
a better planet for future generations. Together we can make
a difference, resolving to become a model for environmental
leadership throughout our industry.
SUMMARY
OF OUR “ GOING GREEN’ EFFORTS

All business can have either a
direct or indirect impact on local, regional and global environment,
therefore Universal Warehousing, SLA Transport & Ace
Service Center, Inc, has developed a “Going Green Policy
to minimize their environmental impact.
All employees are encouraged to
conserve energy, re-use, recycle, reduce consumption of waste
and be in compliance with all environmental regulations.
The following is a brief outline of the policy for our employees
to follow:
A “GREEN
FIBER” recyclable container is available for all
employees to use located at “D” Dock to be
used for recycling newspapers, magazines, printed-paper,
paper bags, empty boxes, etc.
Use
both sides of copy paper when appropriate for faxing or
copying.
Use
only recycled paper products: toilet tissue, household
towels and garbage bags.
Recycle
junk mail after deleting any personal information from
it.
Notify
Magazines to take your name off their mailing list if you
no longer want their publications.
Use
recycled envelopes and office supplies.
Separate
garbage from trash.
Separate
Bottles & Cans for recycling.
Recycle
old computers, toners, cartridges, many companies offer
recycling programs. Our current Office and Janitorial Supplier
W.B. MASON have a recycle program and our old toners etc
are returned.
Turn
off lights, heaters and any electronic device when not
in use.
Shut
down computers at the end of the day to conserve energy.
Use
only eco friendly cleaning products when required.
Use
e-mail when possible unless an alternative communication
is requested.
Recycle
or donate your own personal cell phones to Wireless Recycling,
ATT or Verizon who refurbish and are used to benefit victims
of domestic violence.
